A dear friend, and a poetess in her own right,
lost her son-in-law last week~~~
the family had to make a decision
to remove life support.
My friend wrote a poem
entitled REMEMBRANCE ROSE
and placed it on
An Hour with You
website.
I wept with her as I read her words.
And wrote this poem for her.
My friend, Judie
A Teardrop fell
A teardrop fell on the Remembrance rose
Held in her hand, so tight,
But she noticed not, that a teardrop fell
For she was praying with all her might.
For her daughter she watched torn in two,
For her grandson standing there,
Their hopes and dreams were shattered now,
And she knew it just wasn't fair.
Were our prayers somehow lacking, Lord?
Did we not marshal Warriors to Prayer?
Did we not stand on promised scripture?
Was there a time YOU weren't there?
As these questions mingle with the tears
Flowing down the stem of that Rose,
She turns her eyes toward Heaven, Lord,
For she already knows.
You were there throughout each moment,
You were there while Manny wept tears,
You were there as machines were silenced,
And you will be there through the years.
And her faith in You will sustain her,
As she gently tries to give
Your undying Love to her family, Lord,
So they will know, through You, he lives.
