The pier.

She drifts with the wind
About this meeting place
Around the deserted pier
Remembering his face.

Days pass into the next
Punctuated by fading sunsets
The sunrise awakens her hope
Resuming her wait without regret.

The sea teases with whisperings
Offering a comfort in his name
Though she knows not to fall
For the charms of an oceans game.

She gazes upon the distance
To where can be seen passing ships
Filled with thoughts of once again
Feeling his touch upon her lips.

Forever she will be here
When the lonely pier is not
Yearning for a point in time
A world has long forgot.
