Preventing TemptationMatthew 18:7-9 A curse on the earth for temptation to sin, As a necessary evil for temptation to begin; Unfortunate for the man temptation thrives, For if not stopped it'll grow as it strives; If a hand or foot is caught being enticed, Quickly take a knife and have them sliced; Better for a hand or foot to lose or retire, Than both hands or feet thrown in the fire; If your eye or ear is tempted take it out, To Heaven with one eye or ear no doubt; Better than the fire for both eyes or ears, Spending an eternity with the fiery fears. Temptation is everywhere that you turn, Not even aware the trouble it can earn; For the desire of lust can be such a force, That you do not even feel any remorse; Examine your life the direction it leads, Finding out exactly where your lust feeds; Just put a stop to it as you fast and pray, Ask God to give you strength every day.
