The Love Of The Gift
The Love of the Gift
A gift has been given,
Extended to you,
A surprise that was driven,
By love, that's so true.
I can't accept this gift
That was given to me;
The price is "too much,"
And I'm so unworthy !
Yet I can't deny
That there is a great need,
For words locked up inside
With a will to be freed.
And the giver has presented,
With arms open wide,
This generous gift, and the
Love that's inside.
It's the Love of the gift
That means more than the thought,
For it's by God's design,
That this wonder has wrought.
Imagine, if you will,
What our Savior would do,
After all that He gave,
His gift was denied, too.
O, the pain that would cause
is much more than the thorns !!!
For it was for your love
That Christ Jesus was born.
So gladly, I accept
This gift given to me,
For the love of the giver
Is what makes me worthy.
