Poetic Verses
Perfect
I lipstick my smile
and eye-line my optical reception
that I might see
some sort of completeness
and present the illusion of
perfection
For whom?
For who can really see
if my smile is painted on
or if wet eyes
have blue streaks
running down crimson cheeks
I wrap my coat
around imperfection
the pretty color and texture
is what people see
but who will see me
No one dares to look
beyond store bought promises
that make you perfect
10/21/02
and eye-line my optical reception
that I might see
some sort of completeness
and present the illusion of
perfection
For whom?
For who can really see
if my smile is painted on
or if wet eyes
have blue streaks
running down crimson cheeks
I wrap my coat
around imperfection
the pretty color and texture
is what people see
but who will see me
No one dares to look
beyond store bought promises
that make you perfect
