Your Anniversary

Twelve months have passed since you closed your eyes,
Parted the clouds and flew to the skies,
Not a day I wish to celebrate, but not a day to forget,
It was the day I hurt you, the biggest day I regret,
It seems only yesterday, I woke you with a kiss,
Looked into your eyes..oh those I do miss,
Not a day has gone by without a thought of you,
Your constantly with me, in everything I do,
They say time will ease the pain, but they do not understand,
What it's like to be the one, who let go of your hand,
My heart is in pieces and never will it mend,
I lost my soul mate, my only best friend,
Oh how I wish you where here to watch your children grow,
You have never held your daughter, she's so beautiful you know?
Your son is getting his character now, he's so much like you,
It's hard to believe he's almost two.
I watch as they sleep, escape to the dreamland,
Feeling you watch with me, holding my hand,
Save us a place on your cloud babe,
Don't allow our wings to roam,
For when it comes beyond the hands of time,
We too will be coming home........
