Not A Good Day!

She ran into his arms - he held her very tight!
They in their haste fell over it gave them such a fright.
Upside down, on their bums, legs lashing all around!
'Gerroff!' she screamed, ‘me knickers are caught!'
‘And me ‘lastic can't be found!'

He jumped up, held out his hand, to help her to her feet!
With dress awry, and buttons undone she didn't look very neat.
'Sorry luv.' He told her, ‘the step got in the way,'
'That's ok,' She replied, 'It's not been a very good day.'

So once again he held her, and as he bent to kiss her face!
He cut his lip…‘Ow!' he cried. He'd caught it on her brace.
'Oh Lord,' she breathed, ‘what've I done I forgot to take it off!'
So she slipped it out, put it in her bag, and gave a little cough!

Then startled they heard a voice ask, 'if you're ok we've begun!'
Looking around to a sea of smiles, they said, ‘what've we done?'
Brought to the earth with a thud and blushing a bright red hugh,
They turned to the priest in unison and said to him, 'Yes, we do!'
