Heart Of The Matter
Off The Beaten Track
I found some pictures I forgot to send,
Just looked at once, then tidied clean away,
They don't belong to me but to my friend,
She took them when we were on holiday,
I looked at them, the contents made me smile,
She captured, me and Mary; huddled close,
Regret, I haven't seen her for a while,
The chance to visit never quite arose,
Now Mary is the sweetest thing I know,
With gentle eyes and shiny chestnut hair,
And when I'm with her there's an inner glow,
Exhilaration far beyond compare.
I mount her and sit squarely on her back,
Just me, and Mary off the beaten track.
