Salute to the heroes
That put their lives in danger
To fight for our freedom
Putting away the terrorist anger
Some never return home
Some lose their leg or arm
Some are now just left to roam
With torment of war thoughts alone
I took a trip to Washington D.C.
I actually went for a convention on poetry
During my stay I went to Arlington cemetary
The feeling was so sad that came over me
You see the pictures are very clear
Yet it is nothing like actually being there
God bless the ones that gave their lives
Protect the living from pain and strife
Remember them not just one day a year
Pray daily for past and present soldiers
God bless their friends and family too
For they also sacrifice for the red,white,and blue
