This poem is for my soulsister, Daniah, who lives halfway across the world in Saudi Arabia, but our hearts~thoughts~and souls have always been inexplixicably intertwined! I love you, sweet sister! ~Lori-Wan~ My thoughts turn to you, dear girl, knowing how hard you are working to get ready for Eid El-Fitr, the end of Ramadan... You have told me before not to worry about you, but I know how you will cut fresh flowers, make the beds with fresh linens, rearrange furniture, drape rich new cloths over all the sofas, silks and tapestries, intricate beaded bejewelled beauties. You will cook for days, preparing dishes that are never from a box, for company that will come from all over to feast with you, and I am happy for you, for your celebration... But I also know that you have been sick with the flu, weak and unable to drink fluids, fasting and praying in rigorous rituals... I understand all the traditions, dear sweet sister because you have explained them, but is it okay for me to worry about you, wonder if you are getting enough rest, hoping that you don't pass out like last year. I admire your strength and your spirit... I wish you a very sweet holiday with all of your family, surrounded by love... but would I be too much of a sister if I said I wished you would take time to get some rest too... And even knowing that as I say this, I would make the same promises to you and never obey them? ~The best of health, dear soulsister...get your rest and do whatever you need to do to keep up your strength~I worry about you because I love you!~ Lori Beal
