A tiny little clearing
upon a lake shore clear
Some watch the ripples of water
like the passing of the years
The splash of a fish upon the pond
like trouble in the night
Makes the pond a changing thing
a unique thing for our sight.
To count the pebbles upon the shore
and by their color too
Seeing the soft spray of water
just like a morning dew
And as the weeds grab a hold
between the pebbles side
The weeds encroach evermore
a lawless plant resides.
Then the wind sings melodies
different upon ever breeze
To lull the troubles from your life
like pollen that makes you sneeze
It cools the sweat upon your brow
and fills your lungs for free
Remembering things of moments before
acting the fool for all to see.
Sometimes if you are lucky
the clouds will walk on by
Painting pictures of today and tomorrow
upon a pristine sky
Then the poetry will hit you
of all the words we speak
The ones that touch us in our hearts
are those we never reap.
For they are the commonality
of which we see each day
Mundane cannot be appreciated
until it is taken away
So walk through puddles on rainy days
feed pigeons in the park
Kiss your family good morning
coming straight from your heart.
