Be a Daddy To YouA poem from the novel "The Essence of Poetry II:Gerald's Sophomore Yet Grown Poetrybook" Written by: Gerald L. Ingraham ------------------------------------- I already regret not being there, I was not there when you were born; I believe it was neither just nor fair, But there is no need to feel torn. The important thing is that I am here, And never shall part separate ways; I say right now that my greatest fear Is losing you after all our happy days. To be a daddy to you Is all that I wanted to be; Let me be a daddy to you, As I take care of us three; So I shall be a daddy to you, And how true that we shall see. Now, I know we have recently met, But still I want to be there for you; My schedules for you have been set, And I see so many things we can do. Let me make up my every wrong, It is never too later for a change; Hold my hand with a force so strong, As you see anything can be arranged. To be a daddy to you Is all that I wanted to be; Let me be a daddy to you, As I take care of us three; So I shall be a daddy to you, And how true that we shall see. Never re-fall, Jaden, The stepchild of my prayer and dreams; Always recall, Jaden, I am still here as hard as this life seems. ...and most of all, Jaden, I love you.
