Furry Critters. He went to bed one night, And was almost fast asleep, Then suddenly, out of the blue, He felt an almighty leap! He jumped up in bed, All at sixes and sevens, The air was black and blue, And raised right to the heavens! There he was all shook up, Not knowing what was wrong? Didn't know what landed on his bed, But whatever it was? Did it pong! Peering in the darkened room, Trying to understand...? What the hell was going on? And what was the problem at hand? Sneaking a look over the covers, Trying to see in the darkened room, He didn't know what to expect, And thought he may be meeting his doom? As he became used to the dark, His vision became more clear, Shivering, shaking and scared, His confused mind was feeling fear! Forcing himself awake, And wiping the sleep from his eyes, He saw the object of his scare, And blimey, what a surprise! Was a little furry critter, Almost perfectly white, How can a little kitty kat, Give him such a fright? It had jumped off the wardrobe, And landed with a thud, No wonder he got a fright, Because anybody would! His heart settling down, He snuggled down to sleep, And instead of dreaming of kitty cats, He dreamt of little sheep! It took a while to settle down… And drop off to noddy land, Cos he was shaking and unnerved, Which I fully understand! At least the kitty landed well, Upon the nice soft bed, It could have been much worse though, He could have landed on his head! But the moral of this ditty is, Don't be scared, because you see, It may frighten you to death, But usually a reason there will be! Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
