Heart Of The Matter
Just Lately
Just lately, sadly,
One more tear to cry,
I close another door,
And say Goodbye,
I lift the latch,
And leave regret behind,
And seek another door,
I've yet to find,
My day before today,
Would never last,
I'm cutting ties,
Which bind me to the past.
Decision made,
I know, it's for the best,
I'm thankful for small mercies,
And for rest.
I'm much relieved,
The clouds have passed me by,
Just one more tear,
And then I'll say Goodbye.
