The Promised (Christmas Poem) #265

I have read many poems honoring Mother Mary and her
relationship with her child, so I thought today as a bit of personal
challenge that I would write a poem about Joseph's perspective
and relationship to his promised miracle.

The Promised

It came upon a dream one night
so flown on angel's wing
that first when Joseph saw the light
his soul began to sing
for unto him was sworn that day
a child in Bethlehem
that even where in bed he lay
was peace so given them
to join as one to conjugate
and take their time to build
a friendship that would acclimate
‘til grace had been fulfilled
in eyes of many witnesses
in eyes from poor to kings
in eyes of all who claimed of his
their joyful hearts do sing
and so it was that love released
a vessel to indwell
the Mighty God! the Prince of Peace!
Our King! Immanuel!

Merry Christmas,
Lighthouse Bob
