 Romantic Notions By Ivy Rose

Contrasts

Neither here nor there;
yet, somehow, everywhere,
light shines in dark places
highlighting pale obsolete faces.

Wax figures in museum halls
silhouette the cold of marble walls.
Ice maidens and ice warriors
clash in battlefields of well-lit foyers.

Halos of frosted light
surround ghostly shadows taking flight,
playing games of hide and seek
from lampposts where elfin spirits peek.

Light of day or dark of night,
the contrasts are in black and white.
