Needless Sacrifice

Our men are coming home now
The ones who paid the price
While scoffers simply call their deaths
A needless sacrifice.

But no, those men paid dearly
And not at all in vain
For they who died fought to ensure
That freedom always reign.

Nonetheless, some call it fatuous
Because they fail to see
That brave men sometimes have to die
For others to be free.

Oh yes, they're coming home now
The ones who paid the price
While scoffers simply call their deaths
A needless sacrifice.
