She was so very excited
her senior prom is tonight
In a Cinderella gown
she was such a lovely sight.
Her boyfriend in his tux
arrived on time at eight
Mom told them to have fun
and Dad yelled don't be late.
The prom she felt was magic
They were crowned King and Queen
Her friend's whispered to her
your the cutest couple we've ever seen
The night ended far too early
but she knew it was time to go
And when they stepped outside
everything was covered in snow.
It was so very hard to see
and the roads were slick as glass
As a car shot out from nowhere
he panicked and hit the gas.
Their car hit a bridge
and rolled and tumbled down
He was thrown to safty
she lay in a blood soaked gown.
They say she died instantly
no pain did she have to bear
She was taken oh so young
for life isn't always fair.
Afew years later on that night
ice made the driving slow
A driver saw a blood soaked girl
just standing in the snow.
He pulled off to help her
she said I'm late just take me home
He said is anyone else down there
she said no I'm all alone.
He made it to her address
got out and ran to the door
He gave his news to this Mother
she almost hit the floor.
She said you've made a big mistake
my daughters dead you see
She was killed in that very spot
coming home to dad and me.
He cried no she's in my car
there's blood but she's okay
Just wait there I'll go get her
the mother bowed her head to pray.
He returned to the Mother
his tears were streaming down
He cried I searched everywhere
but she was no where to be found.
She said others just like you
have showed up on this date
With the ghost of my daughter
who was told not to be late.
Now fifty years later
if down that road you go
You might see a blood soaked prom queen
standing in the snow.

This was a story that is supposed to be true, about a spot here in Arkansas
Awe but true or not I can't say, I have never seen the ghost, but the story at one time made the local newspapers, or so I'm told
