Work In Progress

Life is like a movie
full of comedy and tragedy
enough drama to keep you honest
the horrors, bleak reminders of the past
the ending credits a life legacy
and than suddenly a blank screen...
picture it five years old growing up
in an abused home, thirteen years old running because I was scared
sixteen got my act together flying with the eagles in the sky
than at 18 thought I reached adulthood with my diploma
boy was I wrong....
no one warned me of the dangers I was naive for the picking
missed my college entrance now I am working crummy jobs
but I am building towards something I never had
a beautiful stress free home full of vibrant and positive life....
it's a work in progress with bumps of drama
when I reach a situation out of my control
I just have learned to wash my hands of it
and when I mess up I remember the lesson
when I am up to my eyeballs in work
I just laugh because it's my release
what can I say my life can sometimes resemble a comedy
it's the mystery and flaws that make life interesting
now slowly but surely I am learning my part
because it's all I have in this life that is truly mine
I am a work in progress....
