Faraway Friend
This was written for me by a wonderful friend Keye Kirkland
Faraway Friend
She writes to me
From far away;
She never fails
To make my day;
How can I explain
Someone so true?
There ain't no one
Who could ever say
This friendship
Is false in ways-
And if you do
Well, I've got words for you:
Open up your eyes
And see
The key to friendship
Is honesty-
And this is what we have,
So now you know.
There ain't no way
I could ever doubt
What my friend is all about;
We've built a trust
That some may never know.
She writes to me
From far away;
And others, too-
She's just that way;
She has a heart
Of humungous size.
And there ain't noone
To make me doubt
She's my friend
Through-in and through-out;
And I'm proud to say
She's a friend of mine.
