Amore (Love) #211
piptalk.com/pip/cards/photos/Angels/ang0010.jpg Amore (Love) Once upon a bedtime story, came there forth a dove from glory Like a spirit or an essence floating down from heaven's shore While I watched with good intention, I could not help here but mention What a glorious intervention was this angel's named Amore What a glimpse unto forever had this angel named Amore For she touched me evermore. Yes, her hair was soft as sunrise and the haze that shone from her eyes Was as clear as crystal waters cross a vast plutonic floor Should I walk the streets made golden or observe all grace beholden No new love should there be molten from the love of sweet Amore Love that reaches deep inside me is my love for sweet Amore For her love is evermore. Then the dove that came entreating flew away in sudden fleeting Thus enticed my heart to beating -- beating out the name, "Amore" Just "Amore" the last word spoken. Just "Amore" the final token From my heart that now rests broken. Broken more than was before In a maze of hidden sorrows, broken more than was before 'Twas my heart for evermore. Low, I looked for her returning with a deep and heartfelt yearning And as if my soul was burning, ventured onward to implore Through the darkness, through the ages, through the books of endless pages Through life's ups and downs and stages --holding fast to my Amore-- Through the flames that life beguiled me, held I fast to my Amore Who lives on for evermore. -Lighthouse Bob Comment On This Poem --- Vote for this poem
