REAP THE LAND AND WEEP
Look there's another oil well,
Man more riches that's is swell,
Another tree that's grown to cut,
But man one tree just ant enough.
Lets take that forest over there,
Mother nature she wont care,
And look there's one ten miles away,
Yes we'll have that one another day.
This oil well is running dry,
don't worry mate cause we are sly,
We found another yesterday,
That is bound to boost the pay.
If we cut that forest down,
Will not the air grow thin around,
No mother nature she is kind,
There's always more for her to find.
The government says we need some coal,
Then lets go dig another hole,
Dig down deep beneath the sea,
that's where all the coal will be.
Lets tunnel here and tunnel there,
don't worry no one ever cares,
We'll make a bomb from selling coal,
Just dig it out from this earths soul.
Are we going to fill it in,
Nope don't worry its no sin,
These holes they lay far underground,
There never going to be found.
Hay I'm going to start a war,
You mean just like the one before,
No this one it wont last long,
We'll just drop thousands of our bombs.
But wont that crack the world in two,
No just make a hole that's huge,
Then that's alright we can fill it in,
No just leave it stand and grin.
Will the air be full of dust,
Yes don't worry don't make a fuss,
The dust will settle in the rain,
don't pester me on this again.
I need to build another road,
But all these animals its there home,
don't worry they wont even care,
Its not as if we're living there.
My mother needs another car,
The old one smokes just like cigars,
Its only smoke my little friend,
Perhaps in a thousand miles then.
Has the gas run out at sea,
don't worry lad rely on me,
I'll go and dig another hole,
We'll have the gas to warm your soul.
One day this will all run out,
Hay I'm sure without a doubt,
But we wont be here then my friend,
This world will all be gone by then.
Hay I think you may be right,
Did you hear the news last night,
One hundred thousand people dead,
I wonder is this on our heads.
