Rekindled Spark
Don't live in darkness anymore
my eyes are open wide,
and with this revelation
I've lost my place to hide.
I used to hide behind each word
deep within my heart,
why can't I find my own two feet
and figure out my part?
Half the world rushed me by
I was safely hid away,
didn't feel quite adequate
never knew just what to say.
It was my lack of confidence
that hid me in the dark,
until a friend reached out their hand
and rekindled that little spark.
Now my life more worthwhile
much brighter for I'm free,
I hold my head up proudly
for all the world to see.
