I Cry An Ocean…I cry an ocean of tears, I carry a pain as vast as the sea, My tears flow quite freely… From deep within the heart of me! I look and listen and look again, The sight too much to bear, I raise my eyes to the sky above, And scream out; ‘Are you there?' Nature caused this devastation, So I hear them tell me true! But what about God, in all of this! Why didn't He pull the people through! For if God is not the aggressor, Why is it, tell me true… The reasons why - billions cry… And they don't know what to do! What do we blame for these catastrophes? When we know not why they occur, And though the people cry in anguish, Did God, at any time care? Why would a God so just and good, Allow this to come to pass? Where moms, dads and babies perished, Lay on the ground! Death by the mass! What will the people who are left behind? Do without any family now? How will they cope and how will they deal? For they are broken, like the bough! Eyes in faces so bleak and sad, A barren look all about… Why have they been forsaken God? Can He hear the people shout! Their voices cry out in the wilderness, And the earth is plunged into sorrow, What about the ones left behind? What about their tomorrow! How can devastation like this occur? Where is the rhyme or reason why? How do the people come to terms with? The billions of people who had to die…! They roam all over the barren land, Lost in a sea of tears and pain… And no matter what and no matter when, Their lives will never be the same! I cry an ocean of tears… I've a million knives in my heart, I bleed for the people; I ache for them so, My tears over tearing the people apart! Families once so large and full of life, Are now a thing of the past… Some have no-one, no-one at all, The world rocked and we're all aghast! I cry for the people of the pain they are in, And I cry for the heart that bleeds so, I cry for a nation of loneliness… I cry for the people who had to go… …I Cry An Ocean…But I Don't Cry Alone… Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
