Sunset #276

Sunset

I'm looking out upon the line
that open sky and earth defines
and here acknowledge all that's mine
as very very small
for sky above is so immense
and earth below so vast and dense
that hardly have I some pretense
of who I am at all
the colors of humanity
the craziness, the sanity
the brilliance of the world I see
contained within these walls
where sky above meets earth below
to form a line whence all I've known
has somehow paled within the show
that keeps me awe enthralled
‘til darkness once more falls.
