Reassurance From An Angel
A night like any other
I sit here all alone
My cancer pronounced terminal
six months and I'll be gone
I have so many questions Lord
and so much I've left to do
I'm trying not to be afraid
I have my faith in You
For a touch of reassurance
could You send an Angel here
If only for a moment
let one hover near
From the corner of my eye
I saw the dimmest light
but as I turned toward it
it shimmered oh so bright
There stood an Angel
but I couldn't see her face
the light too over whelming
true features not a trace
Her Angelic voice rang out
ask your questions Dear
the voice sounding so familiar
but I wasn't thinking clear
Can I gaze upon my loved ones
from so very far away
and can they feel my love
if I blow a kiss their way
Child you'll see them always
just as they do you
and every time the sun shines
they'll feel your kisses to
But tell me can they hear me
if I try to speak
and tell me can I comfort them
when their tired and weak
Child they will hear your words
as your voice speaks on the wind
your comfort they will always feel
with each memory you send
Then she hovered closer
the light a softer glow
did You feel your Mother's love
when she had to go
I thought for just a moment
as I stood there in her grace
I said oh yes I felt her
and at times I saw her face
Child don't be afraid
don't worry needlessly
In their hearts and dreams
You will forever be
Child you have your answers
death can't take love away
I then saw the face of my Mother
as the Angel slowly faded away.
