Slicing sideways, stirred by winds
Of mounting force, the snowfall starts
To drift through wind-driven valleys,
Creating mountain peaks of white, and starts
To clog the highway. The homeward-bound
Try to navigate it, while all around
Them furls the fury of soft snowflakes
Hardened by the wintry blast the Blizzard takes.
Suddenly the blanket, white, blinds eyes
That strive to see the light that belies
Unspoken dread and mortal fear,
So far from home~~~
And yet, so near.
Prayers, unspoken, sent to God Above,
Take me home, Lord, to those I love.
Safely, keep me, calm my fears,
This is the first snow-storm of the Year.
The barn's in sight, the weather vane
Keeps spinning, spinning,~~~I'm home again.
Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow,
For Answered prayer,
And fearsome, beautiful snow.
