Footsteps Echo

My footsteps seem to echo
as I pace across the floor
over and over back and forth
never stopping at your door

I long to stop turn the knob
and walk over next to you
to say the hurts forgotten
and that I love you to

You said it was a big mistake
that shattered all my trust
you slipped off that gold band
traded our love for lust

For now I'll go on pacing
my minds a jumbled mass
I pray for the both of us
that this pain will pass
