Questioning The Night

When there is no light in the darkness, we start questioning the night that God has brought.

Why should I cast my hope upon the light,
Shouldn't winter have pasted,
Or taken flight?
Why should I wait so helplessly in the dark,
Looking for a ray or a spark,
Of any glimmer of hope,
From some fire or smoke?
Why should I hope!
While staring out into the still dark night,
Questioning whether I've lost faith or sight,
As I clear my mind and eyes,
Looking for those brighter skies.
And from what direction will light arise,
To bring these clouds brighter skies?
And for what purpose should I wait,
If light and darkness won't debate?
Which makes all who wait, wait in vain,
For which cause now our faith is strained.
For so many questions do arise,
When I look toward those black skies;
Looking for that promise light,
As I fight back the dark night.
