Eternal LifeThe world looks on us As we see we heap praise The vanities of the world Wash away by the waves. A bird flies on the vast sky A ripple in the flowing water A leaf floating in the gentle breeze A ray of sunlight breaking through cloud. We see in our dreams Streams will be in the desert The beggars will have plenty Sense happiness in everything. But imagine a world Not a drop in the ocean Not a living in the forest Millions die in hunger and ignorance. Wisdom is all conquering To manifest the divinity To live for others or else Nothing but a forest of brutes. As they say each soul is a star Shining in the infinite azure sky. To light up each and every soul The stems, the roots, the branches of life Be brave in the glare of floodlights And the cessation of misery and gloom Crumbles with dust at our feet We sing for eternal life.
