Where have they gone? All these years
All the days of laughter, joy and tears.
Wasn't it only yesterday to me
When you were a young bride-to-be?
A dark haired beauty, in a flowing gown,
Prettiest girl in our old home town.
Dad standing tall, so full of pride
To be walking by your side.
I don't remember a lot of that day, I guess.
Just one vivid memory, your wedding dress.
And the pride I felt as I looked at you.
And how I wanted to be just like you, too.
After many heartbreaks, Michael came,
And life has never been the same.
He was your true love from the very first minute,
He didn't grow under your heart, he grew in it !!!
Then came Mark, a darling to adore,
And Renee added even more,
With her lovely blond curls, and a smile so bright
Spending time with these kids was pure delight !!!!!
Last, but not least, to arrive was Jeffrey
I was his first date, and 'woe is me'.
I'll never forget seeing him as he "paid the freight",
Such a cute little man, on his first date !!!!!
So many friends you have made,
so many people you know,
So many secrets you've shared,
so much help you bestow.
So many greetings you get
When your Birthday is here.
Because you are a "Best Friend"
Day-to-day, year-to-year.
With great pride, I can very humbly say,
That's my sister, you know,
And it's her birthday !!!!
Happy 80th Sis,
And I wish you 80 more.
So you will always be here for me,
For you I ADORE !!!!
