Primal Ruminations

Moon dance

On this sacred ground we dance,
An ancient moon presides,
The bones that lie beneath our feet,
Know that ‘it' is what decides,

What we want and what we have,
Are placed upon the scale,
The fate of things like you and me,
Are fraught with no avail

What is true and what is false?
Who will have the final say?
Desire, will, and circumstance,
Fight on to save the day

We chant and dance and stoke the fire,
Intention must be known,
A flaming ember-skyward bound
Our quest : a distant star called ‘home'

Shadows merge and winds sing songs,
Of murky truths untold,
Of fallen souls and hellish worlds,
Where lives are bought and sold

Question firmly planted now,
In the deepest, darkest night,
Answer born with the dawn of day,
Hope is still in sight

Daylight comes and assumes its shape
And things are what they were,
And You and I are still intact
Just like the day before

What happened in the dark of night?
That caused such great intrigue?,
The moment that I saw your eyes,
It was easy to believe,

Of life mundane and life sublime
The two are rarely one,
When I'm with you they're both the same
Eternity -- in the shining sun!
