STUPID CUPIDCupid shot that arrow, From out his tiny bow, He aimed it at my sweetheart, But feel as he let go. Cupid did not stop to see, Just where his arrow went, It hit the floor it broke in two, It did not make a dent. I sat here waiting for the news, That he had hit your heart, But all I felt was emptiness, A sadness from the start. I spoke with cupid yesterday, He swore he'd tried again, But told me he was sorry, He had nothing for my pain. So off he went up to the roof, To take another shot, As his arrow left his bow, My heart began to drop. His words I will remember, Until my dieing day, He forgot to charge his arrow, With his spell again. Tears rolled down my checks, As I began to cry, Cupid you're an idiot, I think I wont to die. Cupid said I'm sorry, This time I'll get it right, With a spell he charged his bow, Then pulled with all his might. His arrow left like lightening, Flying through the sky, It moved so fast and swiftly, I could not say goodbye. So finally he sent it, Soaring through the sky, He said it hold a message, Just for you and I. So if you feel a piercing, Jab straight to your heart, Its only cupids arrow, To help our loving start. I pray this one will work dear, That cupid is not wrong, For with this tiny arrow, All my love has come. By B Kingsford Copyright 2005 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
