Have You Ever…

Have you ever wondered and pondered,
On how your life and love had turned out,
And looked back over the years,
And realized there was doubt.

Doubt that it was ever true,
And the love you had was not as it should be,
For when she looked back, she saw for herself,
It wasn't the right love for she.

For when you walk away and look back,
You see it for what it was – good and bad,
For love doesn't hurt the way hers did,
It doesn't cause us to live a life so sad.

Then when love walks through the door,
And you compare what it was you had,
You come to realize the truth of the matter,
And see why it was you lived a life so sad.

Love is all about sharing and caring,
And not about upset and hate,
Anger, resentment, no tolerance,
And every day there's an awful debate.

You are told what to do, and not question,
And orders are barked each day to you,
It wears you down, you live in frown,
And you don't know what to do.

You know it's wrong, this is supposed to be love,
But love doesn't bully, ball and shout,
It's supposed to be loving and caring,
And there should never be any doubt!

And when one is ill they should feel loved,
Not made to feel inadequate and alone,
And certainly not made to feel a burden,
In ones own family home.

When she looks back on her saddened life,
And the ‘love' that there was for she,
She now sees the truth of the matter,
It wasn't love and caring that she'd see.

When someone is ill and in pain,
And things seem to hard to bear,
Love should settle next to our heart,
And show us how much they care.

You don't get annoyed and turn in disgust,
Away from the one you're supposed to love and care,
All because they have bad health and they're ill…!
That doesn't seem right at all or fair!

She was pushed aside and left alone,
To get herself through her trial and pain,
While being told she was a pest,
Over and over again!

So she walked away, straight into the light,
And left the darkness behind…
And then one day, like a miracle,
Without looking, love is what she'd find…

No hate, no malice, no nasty remarks,
And no making her feel ashamed!
For it isn't her fault she has problems,
And  never should she have been blamed.

Now when she's ill she's no longer a burden,
But the opposite is true of this…
For she have loving arms to lean on…
And always a sweet gentle kiss.

Feather light kisses to the top of her head,
Loving arms encasing her tight,
No feelings of guilt for her being unwell,
Just cared for by an angel of the night!

…We All Have a Guardian Angel…
