Feeling What? She doesn't know how she's feeling? If she's feeling at all! All her emotions are numb, She thinks she's lost the call? She still has faith in herself, Of that there is no doubt, It's just that she's in turmoil, Can't let her feelings out! It takes a tiny thing, To set her off in tears, Jolts her into reality, It's then she faces her fears. Can she believe it's happened? No, it seems she can't, She feels like she's dreamt it all, Feel like she still can be harmed. But then she goes to bed each night, And she dreams the same old dream, There he is walking and talking, She wants to wake and to scream! But her dreams are, just that, But they are always the same, He is there, always there, Again and again and again! Truth, yes that's the word, It hits her in the face, He has gone, but though she'll try, Those dreams she just can't chase! She wanted to tell him the truth, Of what he did to she, How he made her feel, And the reason she just can't see! But she didn't, and now it's too late, And the bitterness wells up inside, She wanted to punish him she really did, Over the beatings and the hate she can't hide. ‘Can you see me dad?' She cries, ‘Can you see inside of me? ‘Can you ever know? You made my life a misery?' Feeling What? Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
