Last Words of Romeo

This poem was written about Romeo's last moments before his death. When he saw his lovely Juliet dying, he held her in his arms and tells her as she dies he had nothing else to live for.

O Juliet...
In the sparkle of thy pure beams,
Lay the secrets to thy sweet streams,
And now this path I must take,
which leads me to thy golden lake.
But what a task and choice is this,
To quench a Star for a kiss,
Which leads such a man as I,
To thy fountain in the sky.
O what a lovely stem upon the soft wind blows,
But I long the root where the sweet water flows,
For desired I with all purpose and pursuit,
To be the fertilizer on this luscious root,
And when tomorrow bloom thy flower,
Drink the nectar of thy sweet power.
O parting brings such...such sorrow,
But these bars won't last beyond tomorrow,
And now if I'm to ever be free,
Shed this shell and join with thee.
