The Director's Cut

Places everybody, stage right, actors on
Get the camera ready, turn up the lights, queue the song
Scene one is at the hospital where birth takes place
Pan and zoom to the mother wiping tears from her face
Question for the audience, why is momma crying
Are they tears of joy for baby girl, or baby boy?
Or because she knows what is out there waiting to destroy
What of the proud father, what is in his head?
Assuming he is not gone, stuck in jail, or dead
Pan back to the baby, this unsuspecting foe
So beautiful, so innocent, so much he does not know
As life presents her choices, and there are more than just a few
There lies a consequence for everything there is to do
Most little ones listen to what their parents have to say
But as they get older they're more persuaded by the popular thing of the day
No more regard for the love their parent(s)has for them, the tight shirts, the short skirts, and the saggy pants in
What is there to say moms and dads like music too, it's just our music doesn't destroy the way thiers do
They say that they want freedom but what they don't realize, is that freedom comes with a price that can often be too high
It's my life, let me make my mistakes, is the line you try to sell, it's in your hands remember the plan as you enter the gates of hell
There will be no last minute heroics, to save you from this though, the effort to rescue you was made a long, long time ago
It was you who changed the script; it was you who made that call, imagine the shock to find that this is not your movie at all
There was a higher power directing from above, and he grew weary of your disregard for his love
So he has pulled the funding, end shoot, that's a rap
Until he finds someone else who knows how to act
No need to beg for another chance, you've had much more than your share, he put Guidance all around you, but you just didn't care
This is your life, this is real life, and the choices were yours to make, this is it, end of the script, cut, thats a take
