A Teacher's Cry!
I please you,
Appease you,
I smile at you sweet,
But beneath I'm volcanic
And sizzling strong heat.
You use me,
Abuse me,
I do as I'm told.
You put me in darkness,
Then leave me on hold.
You pound me
And hound me
And hack at my heart,
No time for reflection,
It's always on start.
You change me,
Arrange me,
Without my consent,
And then wonder why
I'm so bruised, black and bent.
You swirl me
And hurl me
And knock me out cold.
I lose all direction
And fear for my soul!
Joy Weare.
4th February, 2005.
