The Laughter Has Died!
The lightness now sleeps,
The laughter just groans.
The nonsense has died,
And the teasing has blown.
Now serious reigns,
All ordered in dark.
I drag every step,
I've lost all my spark.
I do as I'm told
And inwardly fight.
I'm cornered and cold
Outside of the light.
They make me feel old,
With strange glaring looks.
I turn, walk away,
With an arm full of books.
Joy Weare.
7th February, 2005.
