The Empty Pool
A young Atheist in training
an Olympic diver he would be
but he had a Christian friend
they both saw things differently
The Christian spoke of Jesus
but the Atheist still listened
and every now and then
in his eyes the tears glistened
One night at the indoor pool
all the lights were out
there were skylights up above
a bright full moon was out
He climbed the highest diving board
turned to make his jump
saw his shadow on the wall
his heart began to thump
The shadow of his body
formed a cross upon the wall
a gentle voice then whispered
be careful or you'll fall
Then the young man prayed
with no sense of strife
he asked our God the Father
to come into his life
At that very moment
his friend turned on the light
the pool below stood empty
a miracle occurred this night.
