On Turning 40
(Sing with Humor to “I Feel Pretty”:)
I feel aged
Oh, so aged
I feel saggy and haggy and blue
But it's okay
'Cause my mind is going, too...
What can you do?
I feel helpless
Oh, so helpless
'Cause my teen is a mess
And I know
That she blames me
For her grades, her social life,
And all her woes.
I am single
S-I-single
I am 40 and never been wed
Some say, "Bravo!"
Some say, "Poor soul!"
Hey! I'm Single...
It's not like I'm dead!
I can't wait till
I am older
And I get to corrupt a new song
But until then
I'll keep grinning
And for now I'll bid you all
Farewell, so long.
(Apologies to the original Lyricists)
