Don't look surprised to see me though you thought I was gone
Because I'm back in the saddle and ready to ride on
I had a rough start getting out of the gate
But as long as I belive then its never to late
I stumble a little bit; I get dents in my pride
But I'll never stay down because I'm in for the long ride
Some counted me out, Thought I was as good as dead
"He won't amount to much" yeah thats what they said
I heard it so much I started to believe it
Had it in my mind but my heart wouldn't recieve it
Got it in my soul that I could win
Shook the dust off my back and tried it again
The race is not givin to the swift I heard it said
But the winners are the ones who endure instead
So I'm back in the saddle, I'm not as smooth as some
But keep your eye over your shoulder because here I come
I've had some rough days, some cold and lonely nights
But through the grace of God, I'm going to be alright
Lifes not always fair so it would seem at first glance
But it would be a lot worse if not for a second chance
I've got mine and I'm making the best of it
I look at me then and now I just got to love it
I'm not close to perfect, I've got a ways to go yet
But at least I'm in the saddle riding off into the sunset
