Jan.8,1935~*~Aug.16,1977
An incredible man once lived....
Becoming the most popular singer of all time
My all time favorite, so giving and kind
He was a part of my heart, just like family of mine
Elvis performed his last concert in our own city
Back then we were unable to afford concerts any
Many stories have been told
Trying to blemish his character
Yet in the hearts of millions
Our love for him couldn't be altered
I remember the dreadful day in Aug.1977
Our beloved "ELVIS" went to heaven
I was sitting in a clinic to get birth control
When I heard two nurses comment
They had found Elvis dead on his bathroom floor
My heart was broken, my tears poured like rain
Radio stations played his music all night
Thus adding to loss of sleep and more pain
Needless to say..
I abruptly left the clinic and didn't go back
Then a few months later, I become pregnant
On Aug. 22nd of 1978 , I gave birth to a son
Both my husband and myself knew what had to be done
We named him Elvis Presley Begley
The Doctors and nurses knew his name
For as I was wheeled out to take him home
All that were around called out his name
Saying good-bye to my bundle of joy
We've been to Graceland,
and wrote our Elvis' birthdate upon the wall
We also have an Elvis room,
Full of Portraits,albums,memoirs and all
He so loved his precious Mother
at least they are now together
I look forward to hearing you sing
and seeing you in spirit when I go to heaven
It's your 70th birthday,Jan.8th,2005
Oh how you're missed Elvis,
Yet your music and fans are still much alive!
By the way, you notice I didn't call you King
I remember you disliked that said alone
You would reply the King is Christ in heaven
However you do remain the King Of Rock and Roll
I thank my Lord for giving us the time he did
I know you loved to sing gospel songs
Oh how you must be feeling right at home.
