I Love You Today

Today wasn't your day, things didn't go well
You don't have to say a word, I can already tell
The proof is in your voice and tone when you speak
Plus you're not as cheerful as you usaully be
Tough day at work? don't let it get you down
Times like those will often come around
Remember that I love you and that I care
I'm always with you though you don't see me there
Close your eyes for a second, take a deep breath
Reflect on something good like the first time we met
And if that doesn't take all of the stress away
Take comfort in knowing that I love you today
I loved you yesterday, and I'll love you tomorrow
Use it as a blanket to wrap up your sorrow
Bring it home to daddy, lay them on my chest
Let me rub your feet and shoulders while you rest
Find comfort in my arms as long as you wish to stay
I will be your window as you vent about your day
With the best that I can do to give you peace of mind
Just lean on my love to get you home, tomorrow will be fine
