~ A Single Yellow Thistle Flower ~ *acrostic*

A ~ after sense was made of nothing

S ~ something seemed to catch my interest
I ~ inside, golden shades of amber
N ~ never lost the marvel of this
G ~ glowing locks in summer sun
L ~ liberated from the rest
E ~ ever  standing, proud is she

Y ~ yet demanding only best
E ~ equally suited for the moment given
L ~ living life like this season's harvest
L ~ love for the present, even though fleeting
O ~ often still finding memoirs to harness
W ~ wanting more than quarrel and beauty

T ~ though beckoning with thorny gaze
H ~ having not, the elegance of the orchid
I ~  instead, a lovers heart ablaze
S ~ simply adorned in brilliant monochrome
T ~ to compete against the throng
L ~ leaving beauty to the spectator
E ~ entranced, she ne'er needs to belong

F ~ for among the gardens fairest flora
L ~ lies in a bed of prickly weed
O ~ our hidden beauty, thistle flower
W ~ whom to, my love I do bequeath
E ~ e'en when the seasons change and she lays herself to rest
R ~ remember still my single yellow thistle flower and the beauty she repressed
