Iraqi Prophecy

Isaiah 25:1-5

The Lord is my God who I exalt and praise,
And will give honor through all of my days;
For He has such done great acts of power,
Not just once rather in every single hour;
His purposes in the past were made true,
And certain in effect a benefit me and you;
For the Lord has turned cities into rubble,
While the pride of men has run into trouble;
Never to be rebuilt as it was once before,
Using whatever army letting not to restore;
For this why will a strong army give glory,
As a cruel one to be brought before a jury;
God shelters the oppressed from the storm,
Shading them when it is extremely warm;
The wrath of the cruel is like a blizzard,
But God will give warmth from the hazard;
As heat is blocked by the shade of a cloud,
No longer shall men of pride shouting loud;
And as it is now with the cruelty in Iraq,
God has used a mighty army for to block.

I do not want to sound like I am way off base with this far fetched idea of mine.  By no means am I trying to use this as a soap box to justify the invasion of Iraq.  It is just that when looking at Isaiah 25, I am seeing the city of Babylon left in ruins by God.  The Lord also stated that He wanted to ensure it would never be rebuilt.  What better way for to make certain other than using a coalition of the military powers on this earth.  Not only to stop the rebuilding of Babylon, but also terminate the reign of Saddam Hussein.

Let's face it about Saddam Hussein.  He was cruel and oppressive to the Kurds and others within Iraq.  His neighbors did not trust him either, calling him a threat.  The Iraqi people are better off now than they were.  Maybe it does not appear that way with the insurgents, but God will ensure that the table will be turned.

More importantly, God did make a promise to Isaiah that the city of Babylon would never be rebuilt.  I had heard reports that the U.S. Army did find Babylon in the process of being rebuilt by Hussein.  Some may argue with me of this rationale, but I truly believe that we witnessed a portion of God's plan become reality.

God's actions are not reactions to current situations, but part of his long-term plan.  Yes, he has done marvelous things: he took the evil intent and turned it into an opportunity for fulfilling the prophesies.  No matter what your feelings are on Iraq, God is perfect in faithfulness and has done marvelous things.
