Appreciation

This poem describe Adam's reaction to God's creation. He is so taken by the sight he starts praising its' glory, and just when he thought he couldn't imagine anything more beautiful he gets a surprise.

O sky! the prettiest blue, ever
          to me sings,
Ah serene Sea, a kiss forever...
         to me brings,
Running forever in the moments of time,
As space and distance intertwine.
O precious Flower! the sweetest
         of smells felt,
There forever in my mind held,
With an Utopian like bliss,
An internal paradise my mind kissed.
O but what be these two beams
            piercing the night,
That make the moon a jealous light?
It's the beauteous thing
         ever made- God!
A vision too deeply set apart,
More purer than the water of
heaven's springs,
Makes the mind void of the other
precious things;
For there is no beauty more...
       I could conceive,
Until I heard a voice say
          I am Eve.
