"God's Promise"
The dark storm was raging
While winds were blowing high
Lightning was brightly flashing
Across the dark angry sky…….
Trees were creaking and bending
Bowing way down low……….
As I was caught in this storm
Without any place to go
The booming sound of thunder
With the great flashes of light
Caused me to wonder…..
If my heart would fail from fright
Near a bush I hid, waiting as I prayed
Asking God to calm my fear...........
I called to him, above the sounds
I had faith that my "Lord" did hear
Slowly, gently the rains settled down
Lightning and thunder passed away
Leaving my shield, and the cold wet ground
I stepped out again… Into the day
I saw the bright sun begin to peek
From under a silver trimmed cloud
The birds started rustling their feathers
With chirping and singing aloud…
I glanced again toward the heavens
Appreciating the wonders of God, so
And spanned like a bridge across the heavens
Was His promise…..A Beautiful Rainbow!
