God's Scribe Poetry Selections
The Heart
The heart is a tender war zone
Where every step is a cautious one
And every advance is strenuously
Critiqued and analyzed for every danger
As if one wrong move
Should collapse and destroy it all.
Each trespasser creeps past
Fearing of their lives
For waking the sleeping
Dragon within, while
Fluttering through its spaces
Are the memories of joy
And love that land
Silently and gracefully
On the grass of fear and anger,
Softening their blows and
Protecting the fragile
Fibers of the heart itself
Flowers of mercy
Spring forth and cover
The soils of pain with
The fragrances of true, heart-felt love.
And the struggle for peace
Is settled within the heart.
