The Light
Just a simple thought
Of times more cheerful
Happiness breaks the dawn
In my soul
Erasing the darkness
With loving beams
Hope and understanding
Penetrating the cracks
Of a love that I hold dear
And tight
Lighting up my inner being
Warming up the present
From the pasts cold trail
That leads nowhere
Crying is no longer an option
As my inner child is comforted
By the joy that holds my hand
Leading me away from conflict
